From Christian to Agnostic to...

 What's this? A spiritual re-awakening?

I spent the last couple weeks really delving into many people's Near Death Experience (NDE) stories, and I'm not sure why they were never compelling to me before now, but wow, I've experienced quite a mind-shift.

We were visiting our neighbor downstairs one day in November, post-election, and in the midst of whatever we were talking about, she tells us about how she's been watching these live broadcasts of the UAP hearings at the Pentagon, and I think her exact quote was "And UFOs are real?!"

The look on my face then was probably one of complete bewilderment and withheld amusement, because I wanted to laugh, but wasn't sure if she was being serious. Later on, I got curious and looked up the hearings, and I thought it was really interesting stuff - not just the fact that they were talking about extremely advanced technology, but the fact that the people who were testifying weren't your run-of-the-mill tin-foil-clad wackos. These were military and government officials whistleblowing on real classified events that posed serious safety risks, particularly in aviation.

So what if...

I started asking myself "what if" about a lot of things after that.

Then this month, I was watching Mayim Bialik's Break Down where she was interviewing Jeffrey J. Kripal about The Telepathy Tapes (a new podcast about non-verbal autistic kids whose parents and teachers claim the kids are reading their minds). I hadn't listened to it, so I went ahead and did that, and OH MY GOSH, my imagination is going wild at this point.

What if??

Jeffrey J. Kripal also sat in on an interview with Mayim and a lady who had a NDE after being struck by lightning. Her story was really compelling, and at this point, I'm starting to create my own framework and understanding for what all this physical matter is, and what God is, and how we might all be connected to each other in some way that most of us can't see, but SOME people can. I watched A LOT of personal stories about NDEs on YouTube last week during my week off, and no they're not all the same. I don't think they need to be though, to be credible.

There are A LOT of recurring themes in these NDEs - one of the most interesting commonalities is the life review in which the person re-experiences their entire life, not just from their own perspective, but from the perspectives of EVERYONE they come into contact with, as if they are those other people, hearing their thoughts and feeling their emotions and other sensations.

IF that is something that will happen to all of us (and you don't have to believe in everlasting life to believe this will happen to all of us when we die)...how would that influence how you treat other people (and even animals?) in your day-to-day life going forward? Can you imagine the anguish a truly awful person would have to endure going through their life, reliving the miseries they've put other people through? THAT is hell, and is probably the best form of justice there is. I think that's why NDEs tend to be life-changing.

So yeah, aliens, telepathy, souls... 😂 Am I losing my mind, or is there something to these ideas?

Thoughts today

Be wary of where you place your trust. The powers that be have always been in the background pulling the strings, but the only difference be...
